The work of Justin Hibbs is entirely dedicated to the reassessment of the legacy of Modernism and particularly Constructivism. In this work the artist transforms the perspective of a concrete interior into an enigmatic new space. The bars which occupy the foreground are inspired by old grids from Mexico and are painted with a lush blue paint amplifying the contrast with the black and white three-dimensional abstract background composition. Yet these two elements seem to form a logical and readable architectural cityscape, where perception is in reverse.
